Curing Panic attacks
Even some Doctors do not know how to cure panic attacks. We also have this belief that knowing more information will somehow make us solve more problems. For example, knowing the difference between a panic attack and a real heart condition is useful but just the recognition of the condition will not solve your problem.
Insght Therapy which advocates recognition of a problem means a soultion has never really worked.
So how do we cure panic Attacks?
Let me first tell you how not to treat a panic attack because the common suggestion that is floating around may harm you more than help.
1. Stop taking those pills
Stop taking any medication or prescription drugs to solve panic attacks. Doctors more than eager to write you a prescription. These drugs typically, anti depressants will just mute down your natural responses, i e take away your ability to feel the natural responses like fear etc. as you may know panic attacks are nothing but misplaced flight or flight response which is hard wired into our brain.
Its the body’s inbuilt mechanism to protect us. If you numb down these bodily responses, you wont be able to respond appropriately to dangerous situations. AMA and Pharma Companies want your money and wish you continue to be a customer thus do not want to cure you. So stop the pills
2. Go easy on Caffeine/ Nicotine
The two not-illegal-but should-be drugs most people prefer is Cigarettes and coffee and both of them poison your blood stream. Such unnecessary chemicals released by your body create a lot of disturbance in your body’s isothermal state. if you blood has too much of alkaline or acidic factors, it will affect your health… mostly bad ways .
Turn down your nicotine/ Caffeine intake and replenish your body with a lot of water. Water hydrates and helps in maintaining an ideal Ph level in your blood stream. Panic attacks are caused by the blood stream which is overloaded with adrenaline and other enzymes. So reduce the habit of booze, smoke and coffee, replace it with water.
3. Take a Good Massage
I can hear some of you laugh at this suggestion. But it has been proven many times to work very well. Anxiety attacks usually affect people who repress too much of emotions. In fact if you feel their shoulders you may even notice some knots in the muscles. New age funda aside, those knots are usually chemicals stored in your body and they should not be there in the first place. A Good Massage therapist will know how to release those muscles and the tension. So take a good massage from an experienced Masseur.
While these are really some general suggestion that I can give you, I suggest you check out the some of the other effective treatments for Panic attacks. Each person is different and thus things that work for one person may not work for another.
The important part is to recognize that Panic Attacks can be cured and that you do not need to take the horrible prescription drugs that numb you out.
