Traditionally, only women were invited to baby showers but as of late the trend has been for both parents to be in attendance together for this joyous event. Families traditionally chose someone not related to the family to host their baby shower, but things have changed since. Baby shower are now being hosted by family, friends or co-workers which is a little different from how it has been done in the past.
Timing
Given that pregnancies run for nine months selecting the best time for a baby shower can be a tough task. In order to reduce the likelyhood of an unforseen problem arising before the baby shower, you should schedule the baby shower about two months prior to the baby being born. In order to avoid possible complications, you should have the baby shower two months prior to the delivery date where the mother to be will be out of her second trimester.
Post Pregnancy Baby Shower
What you are seeing today is a growing trend of families deciding to have their baby showers after the baby is born. Although it is not as traditional as having the baby shower before the baby is born, this is great because not only does it helps the parents, it is also great for friends and family because they get to celebrate and see the baby all at the same time. this is also beneficial because it reduces the risk of guest getting the wrong items. If a baby shower is going to be given after the baby is born, it is best to wait at least two months after. Places for these types of baby showers can be anywhere from parks, restaurants or a home. This is great if you want to keep your baby’s gender a secret until birth.
